The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn The book - at the beginning of the story - was set on the Tokaido Road and then the main characters went to the Tokaido Inn to stay the night. They then started to roam around the Inn. The book takes place in 1735. The main characters are going from Osaka to Edo. Seikei and Judge Ooka went to the baths. Then they went to Ise in search of the thief.
They then went to the Kabuki Theater. Seikei parted from Judge Ooka - Seikei went to the backstage of the theater and Judge Ooka went back to his house. After meeting Tomomi, an actor from The Forty-Seven Ronin play, Seikei then traveled with Kauzo to Tomomi's house. After a battle with Tomomi, Seikei was left alone and was forced to walk to Ise by himself. He then got himself in the play that Tomomi was performing, and walked from inn to inn to advertise it.
The Ghost in Tokaido in is an exceptional book. It is about a young boy who dreams of becoming a samurai. But he is a tea merchant's son, and samurai's must be of a samurai family. The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn is the first book in the Samurai Mystery series and now I am super happy I went ahead and got the first few books as I can immediately jump into the second book called The Demon in the Teahouse, which I will talk about more in a separate post.
The book is about a 14 year old boy named Seikei who has of dreams becoming a samurai. He travels along the famous Tokaido road, seemingly attracting trouble with his every step.
After a crime is commited in the Tokaido Inn, he is invited to travel with Judge Ooka down the road as a witness of the crime, searching for the thief. Seikei is experiencing his dreams, although this time he's not sure if he wants to. Setting Plot Character A boy that is 14 years old who wishes to be a samurai. Seikei is loyal and brave.

The Ghost in the Tokaido Inn Seikei He is an old and heavier man. He is very trustworthy and considerate.
Judge Ooka Tomomi He is a mischievous untrustworthy person. He thinks things through but sometimes he doesn't make the best choices.
